CAMPINAS, Brazil – The Aviagen® South America Excluding Brazil (SAEB) team recently wrapped up its “Broiler Tour Paraguay,” an event that brought Aviagen’s commitment to “Breeding Success Together” to life by connecting producers from across the region to exchange practical insights and strengthen their operations.
Hosted by Aviagen customer Pollos Don Juan in Paraguay from March 24-27, the tour welcomed poultry companies including Las Camelias, Soychú, Santa Elena, Agrosuper, Ariztia, Nutrisur, Fadel-Insuquim, Bonnin, and Don Pollo. Together with Aviagen experts and their hosts, participants explored strategies to enhance the productivity, welfare and environmental sustainability of their Ross® 308 AP broiler chickens.
Shared focus on flock care and sustainability
Discussions centered on optimizing house conditions through effective ventilation and temperature control throughout a bird’s lifecycle, along with practical waste management approaches that benefit both the environment and farm performance.
A highlight of the event was a presentation by Marcus Briganó, Technical Services Manager for Aviagen SAEB and Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean (CAME). He shared practical advice on implementing environmental practices that support bird welfare while also improving farm efficiency.
Juan José Gómez, Director and Owner of Pollos Don Juan, expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to collaborate: “It was a pleasure to welcome fellow producers to our farm. Despite our differences in size, location, or climate, we share a common goal—raising healthy and productive birds. The chance to exchange ideas and learn from one another was truly valuable.”
Santiago Lovera, technical services manager for Aviagen SAEB, also thanked the host and participants on behalf of Aviagen: “We’re grateful to Pollos Don Juan for opening their doors and to all the customers who joined us. This event embodied the spirit of 'breeding success together'—sharing experience and supporting each other to raise standards in broiler welfare, efficiency, and sustainability.”
