Aviagen is committed to education and social sustainability
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Aviagen® is committed to social sustainability, investing in opportunities to educate and encourage the younger generation and to support local communities. For more than two decades, Aviagen North America has been awarding scholarships to graduating seniors at high schools in U.S. communities where the company operates. The program has grown from an initial six to 21 scholarships granted this year, each totaling $1,000. A recent scholarship award went to a high school student in Longview, Texas, where the company is in the process of building a new hatchery.
Winners are determined based on merit and need, and Aviagen often presents students with certificates during the school’s senior awards ceremony. The funds are deposited directly into an account to help cover tuition and books at each student’s college or university of choice.
“Congratulations to all 21 recipients of the 2022 high scholarships," said Marla Robinson, Aviagen Director of Global Marketing and Corporate Communications. “Breeding Sustainability is a core value for Aviagen, and we believe an essential way to promote social sustainability is through education. Investing in our youth enriches our communities, as well as our future leaders of the poultry industry and beyond.”
